Leni under self-quarantine as a COVID-19 precaution

Taking a precautionary measure against the coronavirus disease, Vice President Leni Robredo has been doing self-quarantine in her home in Quezon City.

This is in accordance with the Office of the Vice President’s (OVP) health protocols for those who traveled outside Metro Manila to avoid the spread of the infectious disease.

Robredo said she and her staff are undergoing isolation until they get tested for COVID-19.

“Signing documents and letters at home while on quarantine for a few days before I undergo my nth RT PCR test. This is part of our health protocols at the OVP after my Laguna-Quezon-Bicol trip,” she said in a Facebook post.

“I can only rejoin the others after I receive my negative swab results. Same goes with all the other members of our staff,” she added.

Last week, the vice president travelled around her home province of Camarines Sur to check on the community learning hubs and other poverty alleviation projects initiated by her office.

Prior to this, Robredo also visited the towns of Calauan, Cabuyao, and Binan in Laguna to provide cash aid that would support the livelihood of residents. She then went to Quezon province for the learning hubs inspection.

While she is currently under self-quarantine, Robredo said she is “taking advantage of the respite to go over documents, catch up on readings and do some zoom meetings.”

Last year, Robredo had placed herself under isolation twice after some of her staff tested positive for COVID-19 in July. She was also exposed to a person who contracted the virus in October.
