Hanteo Chart announces top-selling Korean groups, solo artists in 2nd half of 2020


Hanteo Chart has revealed the top-selling albums released by Korean male and female groups, and male and female solo artists in the second half of 2020 covering the period July 1 to Dec. 31.

In the male group category, BTS’ “BE” album, released on Nov. 20, grabbed the No. 1 spot in album sales.

Here are the top five best-selling albums among male groups in the second half of 2020:

  1. BTS - “BE” - 2,343,709 copies sold
  2. Seventeen - “Semicolon” - 974,335
  3. NCT - “Resonance, Pt. 1” - 889,810
  4. BTS - “Skool Luv Affair: Special Addition” - 588,798
  5. NCT - “Resonance, Pt. 2” - 562,289

On the other hand, BLACKPINK’s “The Album” placed first among releases by female groups in the second half of last year.

Here are the top five top-selling albums for female groups in second half of 2020:

  1. BLACKPINK - “The Album” - 758,534
  2. IZ*ONE - “One-reeler / Act IV” - 378,443
  3. TWICE - “Wide Eyes Open” - 283,666
  4. BLACKPINK - “How You Like That” - 226,388
  5. Red Velvet’s Irene and Seulgi - “Monster” - 180,968

Top-selling albums for female solo artists in second half of 2020:

  1. Girls’ Generation’s Taeyeon - “What Do I Call You” - 89,263
  2. Mamamoo’s Hwasa - 26,850
  3. Apink’s Eunji - 24,475
  4. Oh My Girl’s YooA - 20,710
  5. Apink’s Namjoo - 19,595

Top-selling albums for male solo artists in second half of 2020:

  1. Kim Ho-joong - “We Are Family” - 535,593
