Rosanna Roces is among more outspoken local celebrities, ready to talk about anything and everything under the sun.
As such, we weren’t surprised how she was more than ready to accept being considered by some a “has been.”
She said, “Okay lang naman sa akin kasi wala naman na nanatili sa taas.”
“Pag kinasawaan ka na, kinasawaan ka na. Walang formula na pwedeng humatak sayo pataas ulit.”
Rosanna, fondly called Osang by fans, shared how she realized her time as the country’s number one sexpot was up.
“Ito yung tuwing birthday ko,” she shared. “Noong sikat na sikat ako, lahat (ng kumpanya) may cakes (na bigay sayo) na para silang naglalabanan sa paramihan ng cake.”
“Tas ‘yun nga, nung pawala na ako, pa unti-unti na rin ang cake hanggang sa wala na talagang nagbibigay. ‘Yun ang pinaka malaking palatandaan ko,” she added.
Rosanna admitted she contributed to her downfall being as controversial as she was.
Her being outspoken led to many troubles including legal ones.
It got too bad she was avoiding radio, TV and newspapers.
She said, “‘Di mo ako mapapabasa ng artikulo. Na ‘Jusko ano na naman ‘to? Baka warrant of arrest na naman ‘to?'”
The 48-year-old is only too happy to have been able to weather it all.
But she acknowledged, “Hindi rin naman mangyayari ‘yun kung hindi ako nagbago ng attitude.”
Being not-too-popular has it benefits, said Rosanna.
“Nu’ng nawalan ako ng career, lumabas ang totoong kaibigan ko. Naging mas totoo na ‘yung mga kasama ko. Kasama ko na ‘yung mga tamang tao ngayon,” was how she put it.
She is slowly trying to reinvigorate her career and she’s thankful that there are production companies that still believe in her, among them Viva Artist Agency (VAA).
VAA signed her up recently and Rosanna could only be too happy.
“Talagang naramdaman ko na ‘Ay importante pa pala ako sa showbiz,'” said she.
Rosanna is to star in Viva’s “Paglaki Ko Gusto Kong Maging Pornstar.”
She’ll also be starring in two remakes: “Pieta” with Diego Loyzaga; and “Insiang.”
