Malacanang has appointed a new director at the Department of Science and Technology’s Food and Nutrition Research Institute (DOST-FNRI).
DOST Sec. Fortunato de la Pena said the Palace has approved the promotion of Dr. Imelda Angeles-Agdeppa as director of the DOST-NFRI.
De la Pena said in Facebook post on Thursday that he himself recommended to the Palace the appointment of Agdeppa,
“Dr. Imelda Angeles-Agdeppa is a seasoned researcher/scientist in the field of nutrition,” he said.
The DOST secretary said he already worked closely with Agdeppa in the Virgin Coconut Oil (VCO) Clinical Trials Project in Sta. Rosa, Laguna.
De la Pena said he “saw how she (Agdeppa) exerted extra effort in her work to deliver the outputs on time.”
“She is a good team leader,” he added.
“When the Search Committee ranked her first among the nominees, I did not hesitate to recommend her for the Presidential Appointment,” he said.
