The Motolite women’s volleyball team is on a rebuilding stage, clarifying reports that it has filed a leave of absence or has disbanded.

Sources say the team remains intact and is only waiting for clear signals from the Inter-Agency Task Force regarding the resumption of volleyball tournaments.

Players and coaches also continue to receive their salaries and benefits despite the absence of tournaments and practices and have been in constant communication with the company after the volleyball season was suspended last year due to the pandemic.

Sources also said the team is beefing up its lineup to make it “championship caliber”, keeping their options open in acquiring new players in positions needed to be strengthened.

The Premier Volleyball League (PVL) is tentatively set on April 10 at the Inspire Sports Academy in Calamba, Laguna under a bubble-type setup.

The team, bannered by Myla Pablo, last saw action in the 2019 PVL Open Conference where it finished fourth before pandemic cancelled volleyball tournaments.
