Davao City records 170 new cases of COVID-19


DAVAO CITY - Davao City recorded 170 new cases of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) Thursday, Jan. 21, the Department of Health (DOH) Davao Center for Health Development reported.

The new cases in the city were among the 240 fresh infections reported in Davao region. The region currently has 2,583 active cases.

Based on the Regional Daily Case Bulletin of the DOH, Davao City has the most number of remaining active cases in the region with 1,552.
The city has so far recorded a total of 10,768 COVID-19 cases. On the other hand, Davao region has recorded a total of 15,696 cases.

There were also three deaths recorded in Davao region on Thursday, bringing the total number of fatalities due to COVID-19 to 623. Davao City has the most number of deaths recorded with 492.

The DOH said of the deaths recorded yesterday, one was from Davao City, one from Davao de Oro, and one from Davao del Norte.

Meanwhile, there were 168 recoveries reported including, 83 from Davao City, 26  from Davao del Norte, 22 from Davao Oriental, 20 from Davao del Sur, 16 from Davao Occidental, and one from Davao de Oro.
Davao region has recorded a total of 12,490 recoveries.
