The SWS said its survey conducted Nov. 21 - 25 showed “69% of Filipino families saying they received monetary help from the government since the COVID-19 crisis began.”

“This is similar to the 71% in September, 2020, and the 72% in July, 2020, implying that there has been no increase in the recipients of the government’s cash subsidy between July and November, 2020,” the SWS noted.

The survey questionnaire did not mention a specific government agency.

“The survey also found 7% of families saying they received money-help from the private sector since the COVID-19 crisis started,” the SWS also said..

The survey was the first face-to-face interview since the COVID-19 pandemic.

Interviewed nationwide were 1,500 adult Filipinos, ages 18 years old and above. They include 600 in Balance Luzon and 300 each in Metro Manila, Visayas, and Mindanao.

The SWS said the sampling error margins are ±2.5 percent for national percentages, ±4 percent for Balance Luzon, and ±6 percent for Metro Manila, the Visayas, and Mindanao.

The Philippine Statistics Authority looked at the medium-population projections for 2020 to obtain the national estimates.

“The survey items reported here were non-commissioned. They were included on SWS’s initiative and released as a public service,” the SWS said.
