Parañaque City Mayor Edwin Olivarez, in a memorandum posted yesterday (January 20), ordered that “all offices within the city hall premises will only be open to render public service from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.” for disinfection activity to be conducted every Friday starting January 22.
Olivarez said the disinfection will be conducted from 4 p.m. onwards every Friday of the week. This is part of the city government’s effort to maintain a healthy and safe environment within the workplace and to stop the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19) disease as a new variant has been confirmed and detected in Metro Manila.
The City Health Office (CHO) has reported that as of January 20, the city recorded 23 new active cases of COVID-19, including no address and unknown barangay and now totaling 135.
The city recorded a total of 8,492 confirmed cases since March. Out of these cases, 8,139 have already recovered while 218 died.
