Davao City records 48 new COVID-19 cases, three deaths

DAVAO CITY – The Department of Health (DOH) Davao Center for Health Development reported 101 new cases of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in the region on Tuesday, January 19, bringing the total number of recorded cases to 15,301.

Of the new cases recorded, 48 were from Davao City, 18 from Davao del Norte, 17 from Davao de Oro, 14 from Davao del Sur, and four from Davao Oriental. Last Monday, January 18, Davao City also recorded the most number of new cases in the region with 103 cases out of the 123 new COVID-19 cases.


The region has 2,576 active cases, of which 1,465 are from Davao City. The city has recorded a total of 10,521 cases.

The DOH also recorded three deaths in Davao City bringing the total number of fatalities to 615. Davao City has recorded a total of 488 deaths due to COVID-19.

Meanwhile, 140 recoveries were reported yesterday bringing the region’s total recoveries to 12,110. The DOH said the new recoveries included 105 patients from Davao City, 22 from Davao del Norte, six from Davao Oriental, three from Davao de Oro, two from Davao del Sur, and two from Davao Occidental. Davao City has recorded a total of 8,568 recoveries.
