Actor Kim Seon-ho draws 1 million cumulative viewers to his first global online fan meeting

Korean actor Kim Seon-ho has successfully held his first global online fan meeting on TikTok on Jan. 17.

The fan meeting “Seon-ho’s Favorite” on TikTok Stage Connect recorded 1.01 million cumulative viewers and garnered 73,000 cumulative votes held as a pre-event, according to Korean media.

In addition, the Philippines, Korea, Indonesia, Thailand and Malaysia have been cited as countries with high participation and viewership rate in the fan meeting, proving Kim Seon-ho’s global popularity.

During the fan meeting, Kim Seon-ho talked about the scenes that he selected from the drama “Start-Up” and played a telepathy game with fans. He also prepared food and fulfilled fans’ wishes.

He was also surprised when he saw a room full of messages from fans, saying, “Thank you so much for sending me messages of interest, love and support. I will repay your support and do my best. I hope that next time we can meet in person.”

Last Dec. 28, Kim Seon-ho held an online broadcast titled “Good-bye 2020” on Naver V Live, which drew about 846,000 viewers from different countries.

Kim Seon-ho saw his popularity rise after starring in the drama “Start-Up” with Bae Suzy and Nam Joo-hyuk last year. His Instagram followers have increased to 4.5 million and he has been called the “trending actor.”

At the 2020 KBS Entertainment Awards, Kim Seon-ho won a rookie award for the Korean TV variety show “2 Days & 1 Night.”

He was offered to star opposite actress Shin Min-a in the tvN drama “Mr. Hong,” a remake of the 2004 movie which starred Uhm Jung-Hwa and Kim Ju-Hyeok.

The 34-year-old star is currently starring in the play “Ice,” which will run until March 21 at Sejong Center S Theater in Seoul.
