STREAMING REVIEW: New stills hype up excitement for ‘Space Sweepers’ Netflix release

As Song Joong Ki’s sci fi adventure film "Space Sweepers" gears for its Netflix release on Feb. 5, new stills have been released to hype up the fans about the movie.

New images from the film shows individual and group shots of the cast members including Song Joong Ki, Kim Tae Ri, Jin Seon Kyu and Yoo Hae In, which gives audiences an idea about the roles they will play in the movie.

Song Joong Ki is shown crawling through a narrow vent while heroically bearing the weight of one of his crew members. Kim Tae Ri has her game face on in two images – one while facing off with an army of armed opponents and one standing her ground against a male flight officer.

Yoo Hae Jin plays the character of the ship’s harpoonist robot. His movements were used for robot motion capture for the first time.

Space Sweepers revolves around a crew of space junk collectors who travel in space through the ship Victory after the Earth becomes a barren desert.

The ship’s pilot Tae Ho (Song Joong Ki), Captain Jang (Kim Tae Ri) and its engineer Tiger Park (Jin Seon Kyu) stumble upon Dorothy, a humanoid robot of mass destruction and strike up a business deal to cash in on their find.

However, they soon realize that the entities who are interested in the robot are up to no good. The team members must do everything in their power to protect it from falling into the hands of evil.

Space Sweepers was initially intended for a 2020 release date in Korea but due to the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, it was pushed back to 2021. The film will instead have a global premiere on Netflix on February 5.
