The San Juan City government Tuesday launched two new handwashing facilities to help strengthen the city's fight against the coronavirus pandemic.

The handwashing facilities, in partnership with Manila Water Foundation, are located at the Agora Market and Barangay Balong Bato Health Center, featuring a "hybrid" mechanism that allows users to turn on the faucet via lever using their hands or elbow, or by a foot pedal.

Each facility comes with three faucets with soap containers and signages reminding users of proper handwashing. San Juan LGU said that the facilities are easy to use for persons with disabilities (PWD) and children because of the lowered sink.
