Mina, 27, former member of K-pop girl group AOA, has revealed a psychiatric medical certificate to belie accusations from Koreans and foreigners she had no proof that she suffered bullying from former group leader Shin Jimin.

On July 3 last year, Mina made several posts on Instagram to reveal that she was bullied by Jimin for 10 years from their trainee days until they were in AOA, which drove her to attempt to commit suicide. The group debuted in 2012 and Mina left AOA in May 2019 after her contract expired.

The following day, Jimin posted an apology to Mina on Instagram. Mina was not appeased and revealed Jimin brought a man to AOA’s dormitory and got intimate with him.

Because of Mina’s exposé, Jimin left AOA, with FNC Entertainment announcing on July 5: “From this time, Jimin has decided to leave AOA and stop all entertainment activities. We also take responsibility for this situation and will make every effort to manage artists better. We apologize again for causing concerns.”

In August, Mina wrote on Instagram that she “tried to kill myself again” by cutting her wrist, according to Osen. Mina declined to have the bullying issue investigated by the police and left Woori Actors agency in September.

In her latest Instagram post, Mina uploaded screenshots of malicious comments coming from people who support Jimin.

“A few days ago, there were many people who mentioned the events that happened in July and August through direct messages and comments,” she said.

A news article about her was published and Mina said she received a lot of bad comments. She said those who support Jimin swore at her and accused her of driving Jimin to become a murderer without any evidence. Mina added that Koreans and foreigners, using a translator, called her a killer, liar and psychopath.

Because of this, Mina uploaded a psychiatric medical certificate to show proof that she suffered under Jimin.

According to the medical certificate, Mina had symptoms of severe depression, anxiety and insomnia from Feb. 27, 2016 to March 20, 2018 and based on the diagnosis, she was treated at a hospital.

“At the time of treatment, the patient was active as a singer in a group and repeatedly showed psychological stress due to harassment and verbal abuse from the leader, which resulted in the worsening and recurrence of symptoms,” according to the certificate.

The certificate noted that Mina continued to be in a psychologically unstable state with suicide attempts and panic attacks.

Along with the medical certificate, Mina wrote that she secretly started taking sleeping pills from around the age of 20 or 21 and it was between 2015 and 2016 when it became harder for her to endure Jimin. She added she went to that hospital until March 20, 2018 and tried different hospitals.
