Action star Rex Lapid dies at 73


Former 70s action star Rex Lapid succumbed to sepsis last Saturday, Jan. 15. He was 73.

According to Mayoclinic.org. Sepsis is a potentially life-threatening condition caused by the body's response to an infection, damaging multiple organ systems.

Rex is survived by his wife Bebeth and their two children, and three more from his former wife actress Helen Imperial.

Born on December 28, 1947, Rex is the cousin of action stars Jess Lapid Jr. and Senator Lito Lapid.

Before basking in the light of show business, Rex was part of a stuntman group known as "SOS Daredevils."

Among his biggest films and projects  were "Shotgun Kid" (1970), "Panlaban: Dos Por Dos" (1981), "Dugong Mandirigma" (1981) and his 6-part mini series "On The Job: The Series" (2016)
