Desperate mother receives baby stroller from Isabela PNP

ISABELA – It was a long shot, but Jen Jen C. Corpuz was so desperate to get a stroller for her ill-stricken son that she took a chance in asking for help through the Philippine National Police (PNP) Hotline in Isabela – a line usually reserved to report crimes and other emergencies.

That was why Corpuz got the surprise of her life when personnel of the San Isidro Police Station came to her home recently to deliver the baby stroller she was yearning for.

Led by San Isidro Police Officer-in-Charge Capt. Juan B. Deodato, the police officers handed the stroller to Corpuz so that it could be used by her two-year-old son Denver, who is suffering from meningitis.

Corpuz told the police officers she had fallen in deep financial problem, and had become desperate to find a stroller for her son.

That was why she texted the PNP Hotline of the Isabela police in a bid to find help.

On the initiative of Police Regional Office 2 (PRO-2) Director Brig. Gen. Crizaldo O. Nieves and Isabela Police Director Col. James M. Cipriano, she got what she prayed for.

Isabela police said the effort to help Corpuz was made in line with Nieves’ “Bayanihan sa Barangay” and “Lingkod Bayanihan” initiatives of Nieves.

According to Deodato, it also shows the extent of the police’s compassion to the people, and in strengthening police community relations.
