The collaboration, titled P25 Music, is a year-long celebration commemorating the 1996 launch of the first Pokémon cards and video games for Nintendo's Game Boy.

"Pokémon has been a constant in my life from playing the original video games on my Game Boy, to trading Pokémon TCG cards at lunch, to the adventures of catching Pokémon on the street with Pokémon GO," Perry said in a statement.

The "Not the End of the World" singer added that she visited the Pokémon Cafe in Japan while on tour.

"It's an honor to be chosen to help celebrate a franchise that has given me so much joy in the last 25 years, and to be able to watch it evolve in the ways it's provided that kind of electric joy for the kids in my life and around the world," she added.

The Pokemon Company said that it is working with some of the biggest names in the industry to celebrate its anniversary.

To help the fans kick off the celebration, a live-action video, highlighting moments in the brand's 25-year history can be viewed on its official Youtube channel.
