Jerrold Tarog has confirmed that he's no longer involved in the TV series "Darna."

On Twitter, Tarog cited "scheduling conflicts" as the reason for his pullout.

But he assured followers that some doors remain open regarding his future involvement in the Ravelo series.

"We will see. For now, I wish ABS-CBN & @Imjanedeleon  all the best. Let's continue to support them," Tarog said.

Before the year 2020 ended, ABS-CBN announced that young actress Jane De Leon will star in “Mars Ravelo’s Darna: The TV Series.”

Darna is a fictional Filipino comics superheroine created by writer Mars Ravelo and artist Nestor Redondo.

The project was first announced in 2014 with Angel Locsin in the lead and Erik Matti as the film’s director.

But Angel had to deal with a back injury along the way, eventually leading to her dropping out of the project in 2015. She was replaced by Liza Soberano in 2017.

A year later, Erik backed out of the project citing “artistic differences with ABS-CBN.” He was replaced by Jerrold.

In April 2019, ABS-CBN issued a press statement announcing Liza had left the project due to a “finger injury.”

Months later, Jane was named as Liza's successor.

Producers said that the TV series would be shown first before the film version.
