POEA closed for disinfection on Jan. 15


All offices of the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA) in Mandaluyong City will be closed on Friday, Jan. 15, for sanitation and disinfection purposes.

POEA announced this in a public advisory as “a preventive measure against COVID-19.” All offices of the POEA as well as other government agencies and private establishments located at the Blas F. Ople Building on Ortigas Avenue corner EDSA will be closed to the public for the conduct of “regular sanitation and disinfection of its premises.”

Given this, POEA said that all clients who have prior appointment or schedule on the said date shall be accommodated when it resumes its operations and services on Monday, Jan. 18.

“We request your understanding and cooperation as we ensure our workplaces are free from the coronavirus,” POEA added.

Due to the ongoing COVID-19 situation in the country, POEA said that its services can be accessed online. Concerned individuals or organizations may book an appointment and submit a request or application.

Among the services offered by POEA in the time of COVID-19 pandemic include online appointment for Overseas Employment Certificate (OEC) of Balik-Manggagawa (returning workers) and record requests for Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs), among others.

Other online services offered by POEA also include legal assistance online, online pre-employment orientation seminar (PEOS), e-registration, verification of status of recruitment agencies, verification of agencies job orders, and Special Recruitment Authority (SRA) or  Letter of Acknowledgement (LOA) online application system.
