The Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) board of directors will meet on Jan. 14 to discuss if Megawide Construction Corp. and GMR Infrastructure have the chance to rehabilitate the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) after it revoked the P109-billion proposal for the modernization of the country’s primary international airport last Dec. 4 due to insufficient funds.

DOTr Secretary Art Tugade said the MIAA board will take up this issue at the next board meeting after Megawide Chief Business Development Officer Jaime Feliciano said that they have complied with the requirements by the NEDA ICC.

Megawide-GMR was the consortium behind the Mactan-Cebu International Airport modernization that has won multiple international awards.
