TABUK CITY, Kalinga – More than P4.3 million worth of dried marijuana bricks was accidentally recovered by policemen from a teenager, who met an accident in Sitio Banat, Bagumbayan, Tabuk City, Kalinga on Monday, January 11.
Tabuk City Police Chief Lt. Col. Radino Belly said, his personnel led by Lt. Ruben Balanoy, chanced upon a motorcycle which was travelling on a fast clip, and had an accident in Barangay Dupag, Tabuk City.
The driver was 19-year-old Javie Dave Paklay, a resident of Barangay Loccong, Tinglayan, Kalinga.
Paklay reportedly crashed into the shoulder of the road, prompting the policemen to help him.
However, Radino said, while the police were helping the suspect, they noticed that Paklay’s back pack was partially open, and saw bricks of dried marijuana leaves inside.
During the inventory, a total of 35 pieces of dried marijuana bricks with a total weight of 36.602 kilos and with a Dangerous Drug Board (DDB) value of P4,392,240 was confiscated from the suspect.
