The local government unit inaugurated on Tuesday (January 12) its own Women and Children Crisis Center in Barangay Sinalhan.

The inauguration was led by City Mayor Arlene B. Arcillas and City Social Welfare and Development head Judith Hasil.
The two-storey facility was built to cater to women and children in crisis situations such as incidents of violence, abuse, exploitation, and trafficking. The building also houses a multi-purpose hall for enrichment activities like livelihood, training, and sports.
The Women and Children Crisis Center will operate 24/7, under the care of social workers, nurses, psychologists, and house parents employed in the city government. The facility currently cares for 12 minor females.
