Heart Evangelista, Chiz Escudero give advice to couples separated by lockdown

A little hope can keep the spark alive

Being apart from your partner during this time of crisis is challenging on many levels. But connection, according to Heart Evangelista and Chiz Escudero, can still exist while you're separated.

In Evangelista's latest adulting vlog, she sat down with her husband to discuss matters such as long distance relationships.

Escudero said the current generation is lucky to have several ways to communicate with their loved ones.

"Mas maswuerte na nga tayo ngayon. ‘Noong nagka-girlfriend ako when I studied in the States—walang email, walang cellphone, at walang libreng app like Viber or WhatsApp na puwede mo matawagan at makausap," he said.

The Sorsogon governor said he had to settle for snail mails, which takes an average of two weeks to arrive, or those expensive long-distance calls. "Ngayon libre puwede mo makausap mahal mo, kaibigan mo, mas maraming oportunidad," he said.

Sharing wise words to quarantined couples, Escudero said: "This too shall come to pass. It will pass sooner or later. It's a matter of holding on to each other during this time. Hindi naman siguro porket nagka-COVID magbre-break kayo at hindi nagkikita sa isa or dalawang buwan. Ibig sabihin noon mababaw. At hindi nakaugat kung ano mang meron kayo."

Evangelista agreed, saying that it is all about "communication and understanding."

The celebrity couple tied the knot in Feb. 2015.
