‘Sex and the City’ series comeback is confirmed

Raise your cosmopolitans, ladies! Our favorite New Yorkers are about to grace our screens one more time.

The hit TV series Sex and the City revival, titled And Just Like That…, will be available for streaming on HBO Max soon. Rumors about the iconic ‘90s series’ comeback have been circulating for years. Now, it is confirmed through a series of posts and video trailers shared by its cast. Among them is Sarah Jessica Parker, who will again step into Manolo Blahnik heels as she brings to life the show’s central character, sex columnist Carrie Bradshaw.

Actresses Cythia Nixon and Kristin Davis, playing Carrie’s friends Miranda Hobbes, the modern feminist, and Park Avenue Princess Charlotte York, are also joining Parker for the reboot. Kim Cattrall, who portrayed the PR Maven Samantha Jones, however, will not be reprising her role.

Based on the 1997 book of the same name by Candice Bushnell, Sex and the City is an HBO original series created by Darren Star. The show ran for six seasons from 1998 to 2004 and has two movie adaptations in 2008 and 2010. The Carrie Diaries, a prequel series featuring the young Carrie Bradshaw portrayed by AnnaSophia Robb, ran for two seasons in 2013.

The show revolves around four female New Yorkers navigating the city and its men, whether in the workplace, on the streets, and under their sheets. It garnered such a following as it tackled relevant social issues about sexuality, femininity, and the life of a modern woman. Also, the women’s sense of the have influenced the shows popularity, not only on women, but also in the fashion industry.
