New COVID cases in PH reach 1,906, as QC tops list of cities


The country recorded on Sunday 1,906 additional COVID-19 cases, the Department of Health (DOH) said.

Based on the latest case bulletin, the country’s cumulative tally of COVID-19 cases is at 487,690, of which, 20,087 are active cases or those who are undergoing quarantine and treatment.

Quezon City reported the highest number of new cases at 121. This was followed by Benguet which had 84, Davao City with 82, Cavite with 79, and Bulacan with 75.

The tally of recoveries surged to 458,198 after 8,592 more patients have survived from the viral disease. The number of recoveries is 94 percent of the country’s cumulative number of cases.

The death toll, meanwhile, moved up to 9,405 after eight more individuals afflicted with COVID-19 died.

The DOH reiterated its appeal to the public to adhere to the minimum public health standards as the threat of COVID-19 pandemic continues.

“Ugaliin ang wastong pagsuot ng face masksfull-coverage face shield, at pag-iwas sa masisikip na kumpulan ng tao, dahil napatunayang mabisa ang mga ito laban sa pagkahawa sa COVID-19 ,” the DOH said.
