P300,000-reward offered for info on brgy tanod’s slay


CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga – The provincial government here has offered P300,000-reward for any information that could lead to solving the murder of a village watchman (barangay tanod) in Del Carmen, Floridablanca. 

Gov. Dennis Pineda disclosed this development on Monday as he expressed his condolences to the family of the 59-year-old barangay tanod Joseph Labonera Sr. last Sunday, January 3.

Initial police reports said Labonera was shot from close range by one of two motorcycle-riding men, who stopped at a checkpoint at Purok 1 in Barangay Del Carmen at around 11:30 a.m, Sunday. 

Citing witnesses, police said that the hitman was clad in black jacket and a helmet.

The report added that the suspects left quickly in the direction of Barangay Ascomo in nearby Guagua town.
