This was disclosed by Police Regional Office 3 (PRO-3) Director Brig. Gen. Valeriano T. De Leon, who identified the slain foreigner as Gabriel Onyechefula.

In a report he received from Tarlac Police Office (TPO) Director Col. Reynante Cabico, De Leson said operatives of the Concepcion Municipal Police, TPO, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), and other law enforcement units conducted the buy-bust operation at a videoke bar in Barangay Jefmin, Concepcion, Tarlac.

Onyechefula was reportedly killed in a shootout with authorities inside the karaoke.

Seized from the Nigerian were three knot-tied transparent plastic bag containing shabu that weighed about two kilos and estimated to be worth P13.6 million, a 9mm pistol, and the boodle money.

De Leon also revealed that the slain suspect was a member of West African Syndicate (WADS) responsible for the proliferation of shabu and cocaine in the country. The syndicate is also known to use Filipinos as drug mules in transporting drugs to other countries.

“All police units are working closely together to stop the proliferation of illegal drugs not just in the region but the entire country and we appeal to everyone to continue helping us in our campaign against illegal drugs in order to make our country drug-free,” De Leon said.
