DAVAO CITY — The Inter-Agency Task Force For the Management of Emerging Infections in the Philippines has extended the implementation of general community quarantine (GCQ) until June 15 in the cities of Davao and Zamboanga City.
In its Resolution 40 released on Thursday, May 28, the two cities are the only areas in Mindanao classified as “moderate risk” due to the increasing number of confirmed coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) cases while the rest of Mindanao under a modified general community quarantine from June 1 to June 15, without prejudice to the declaration of localized enhanced community quarantine in critical areas.
The Davao Region’s five provinces such as Davao de Oro, Davao del Norte, Davao del Sur, Davao Occidental, and Davao Oriental and Zambonga Region’s provinces such as Zamboanga del Norte, Zamboanga del Sur, Zamboanga Sibugay, and City of Isabela are placed Modified General Community Quarantine (MGCQ).
Also under the MGCQ are Northern Mindanao’s provinces of Bukidnon, Camiguin, Lanao del Norte, Misamis Occidental, Misamis Oriental, and Cagayan de Oro City; Soccsksargen’s provinces of North Cotabato, South Cotabato, Sarangani, Sultan Kudarat, and General Santos City; Caraga’s provinces of Agusan del Norte, Agusan del Sur, Dinagat Islands, Surigao del Norte, Surigao del Sur, and Butuan City; and provinces of Basilan, Lanao del Sur, Maguindanao, Sulu, Tawi-Tawi, and Cotabato City of Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM).
