BAGUIO CITY — The City Health Service Office (CHSO) reported another fatality related to the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) that brought the death toll here to 58 percent on Saturday, December 26.
The fatality recorded on Saturday was a 70-year-old male, who was admitted at the Baguio General Hospital and Medical Center on November 18, and died on December 25 due to COVID-19 with diabetis mellitus.
Of the 25 new cases, 11 were contact traced, two were traced through expanded testing, nine were symptomatic, and three were from tests due to work, travel or medical procedure requirement.
To date, there are 328 active (8.77 percent), 3,365 recoveries (89.71 percent), out of the total of 3,751 confirmed cases in the city since March.
There were 36 recoveries reported on Saturday.
In other parts of Benguet province, La Trinidad town posted 18 new cases of COVID-19, as well as the death of a 52-year-old male patient.
The mining town of Mankayan logged 12 new cases, two in Itogon, and one each in Kapangan and Tuba.
Of the 13 towns in Benguet, eight have stayed zero-COVID-19 as of December 26.
