The Eastern Police District (EPD) on Christmas day turned over a fully furnished housing unit to a 72-year-old Typhoon ‘Ulysses’ victim who was also celebrating her birthday.
“Ito na marahil ang pinakamasayang Pasko at pinakamasayang kaarawan sa tala ng aking buhay sapagkat ito ang una kong pagkakataon sa isang maayos na bahay (This is the happiest Christmas and birthday gift that I ever received in my life because this is my first time to live in a comfortable house),” a teary-eyed Nanay Merlita Villamor Rabino
EPD Director, Gen. Mather Baccay turned over the housing unit located at Bulalad Settlement, Barangay Nangka, Marikina City to Nanay Merlita at about 8:00 a.m. Friday (December 25).
According to the EPD report, Nanay Merlita was chosen as one of the beneficiaries of the “Pamaskong Pabahay ng EPD” that aims to help poor families who were victims of typhoon “Ulysses.”
The EPD police is also helping some families in Marikina City construct their houses that were severely affected by “Ulysses.”
Baccay was with Marikina Police Chief Col. Restituto Arcangel during the turn- over of the housing unit to Nanay Merlita.
Aside from the fully furnished housing unit, Nanay Merlita was also given grocery items as a Christmas gift for her family.
