Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso reminded Manileños to celebrate the Christmas season with discipline as the threat of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) still lingers.
In his Christmas video message on Thursday night, Domagoso said that there are still a lot to be grateful for this Christmas despite the hardships faced this year.
“But for now, let’s celebrate the holidays with discipline,” Domagoso said.
He reminded his constituents to observe the minimum health protocols such as physical distancing during their Christmas celebrations even in the confines of their homes.
“Ngayon ay nagkakasama-sama ang ating pamilya, nagkakainan, or even inaalala natin ang ating mga masasayang araw na walang pandemya. (Our families are now gathering together, eating together, or even remembering our happy days before the pandemic),” the mayor said.
“Ngunit salamat pa rin sa Diyos at kahit papaano natapos natin ang taon na kayo’y ligtas. (But thank God we somehow ended the year with all of us safe),” he added.
The mayor has also paid his respects to those who have lost their lives this year because of COVID-19.
“But life must go on,” Domagoso said.
“Pasko ngayon, marami tayong bagay na dapat ipagpasalamat sa Diyos kahit na ang hirap ng pinagdaanan natin sa loob ng sampung buwan ng 2020. (Today is Christmas, we have many things to thank God even with all the hardships we went through during the 10 months of 2020),” he added.
