Davao couple channels Adam & Eve in prenuptial shoot

DAVAO CITY - All they wanted was a simple prenuptial pictorial where both of them would wear casual attires. But the circumstances had better plans for couple Katherine Joyce Umbajeno and Aguinaldo Tan, Jr.

The couple's prenuptial photoshoot last December 21 is now trending online for having a nature-themed setting inspired by the biblical figures Adam and Eve.

In an interview with The Manila Bulletin, Umbajeno said "Casual lang po sana kasi gusto po namin wag masyado gumastos para sa wedding po namin (We only wanted to wear casual because we do not want to spend a lot for our wedding)."

"Malakas po kasi ulan non kaya naisip namin ang concept na yun po (There was a heavy downpour at that time so we thought about that concept)," she said.

The photos and videos for their prenup shoot were taken by Edward Namare and Vince Manalo of Astersic Photography in Upper Tibanban, Governor Generoso, Davao Oriental. They have so far garnered 25,000 shares since December 22.

"Flexibility over the situation lang po talaga kasi if hindi namin itutuloy yung sched na prenup, babayaran (namin) ulit ang videographer po (We really had to be flexibile because if we cancelled the scheduled prenup, we still had to pay for the videographer again)," she added.

Umbajeno admitted that their families were initially surprised to see them "in paradise like Adam and Eve" minus the apple and the snake. They later admitted that the result of the photoshoot was unique.

"At first, na-shock po talaga family namin kasi iba talaga po ang plan. Hehe. Naging proud po sila sa amin tapos sabi nila wag nalang i-mind ang mga bad comments po (At first, they were shocked because they knew we had a different plan. Later on,  they were proud of us and told us not to mind those who were posting negative comments)," she said.

The couple will tie the knot on January 8, 2021.
