‘My Hero Academia’ releases new trailer for season 5

The show goes back to a very shonen theme, with a season 2 favorite making a comeback

Fans of Boku no Hero Academia (My Hero Academia) or BnHA got an early Christmas present from the show’s creators when a new trailer for its upcoming fifth season dropped this week.

Those who follow the manga are familiar with what season 5 will be all about. Just to give a hint, it’ll feature a theme that’s very common in almost all action shonen titles: a tournament of sorts.

But this tourney isn’t like the one we saw in season 2, although it has similarities. This time around, the hero-students of UA Class 1-A will go against Class 1-B in a team-style battle.

As the trailer, well, teases, there’s a character who will make a comeback this season, Hitoshi Shinso—and with a new look, to boot!

Quick refresher: Shinso is a UA student who has an interesting quirk, but he is not enrolled in the hero class.

At any rate, the trailer also confirmed the date for season 5’s premiere, which will be on March 27, 2021. The announcement comes a few weeks after a third BnHA film was teased.
