The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) has identified the remains recovered in Capas, Tarlac as that of missing Court of Appeals (CA) Justice Normandie Pizarro.

“Confirmed po NBI Forensic (It’s been confirmed by the NBI Forensic),” NBI Officer-in-Charge Director Eric Distor told reporters on Monday, Dec. 21, 2020.

Distor explained that this was determined after the remains the NBI recovered last Oct. 30 underwent DNA testing

“DNA match 99.99 percent po,” the NBI chief said.

The NBI recovered the remains of Pizarro, who was believed brutally killed, after the magistrate’s family reported him missing.

“He was last seen at a casino in Clark last 23 October,” said Justice Undersecretary Adrian Sugay, the undersecretary in charge of the NBI.

“His car, an early model Honda Accord, was later on discovered somewhere in San Simon, Pampanga,” said Sugay, citing reports from the NBI.
