Speaking on her Sunday radio show, Vice President Leni Robredo said the first team has reached Rosario,  Agusan del Sur while a second team has been mobilized to assist displaced villagers in Bislig, Surigao del Sur.

The OVP team was with Rosario Mayor Jupiter Abulog, Vice Mayor Mars Pardillo, and Municipal Administrator Maria Cristina Basan.

“We have many staff from Mindanao. Good thing some of them went home. They immediately arrived in the flooded areas. It would be difficult if they would come from here because they have to follow many protocols,” she said.

Robredo said three barangays – Cabawan, Novili, and Libuac – still cannot be reached by her office due to high floodwater.

The Vice President said landslides affected three other barangays while nine barangays are among the hardest hit in Rosario.

Robredo said her office looked for suppliers of the relief packs to be distributed in these flood-stricken areas.

“I hope we can start our relief operations,” she said. “We looked for suppliers there because it may take long if the relief packs would come from Manila.”
