Congolese blue-chip recruit Jonathan Kuminga and Filipino-American Jalen Green of NBA G League's Team Ignite combined for 48 points in a 113-107 scrimmage loss against veteran G League members Tuesday (Wednesday, Manila time).

Kuminga led the squad of elite prospects with 26 points, eight rebounds, one assist, and one block while Green chalked up 22 markers and seven boards.

Seven-foot-two Filipino prodigy Kai Sotto was limited to five points, three coming from free throws, but delivered on the defensive end with five rebounds and two blocks to earn the praise of Team Ignite coach Brian Shaw.

"I was really, really happy with the effort with what I saw today," said Shaw. " was very pleased with what I saw, in terms of how we matched the physicality, the intensity that the other team played with.

"For a group of young guys against some physically more mature, grown men, they held their own and some," added Shaw as five players from the G League veteran team scored in double digits and combined for a total of 78 points.

Meanwhile, free-agent guard and former NBA champion Jeremy Lin, who recently quit the Beijing Ducks of the Chinese Basketball Association, also participated in the scrimmage as a practice player and additional mentor for the young elites.

Though not officially part of the roster, Lin went scoreless in three minutes of play while another former NBA veteran in Amir Johnson chipped in three points.
