BAGUIO CITY – The city’s 207 healthcare workers (HCWs) have been afflicted with the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) from March 2 to December 4.
Of the 207 cases, 107 were asymptomatic, 96 weremild, two were moderate, and two were severe cases.
Of the two severe cases, one died, a retired doctor.
Female patients comprised the 151 cases (72.95%) while 56 cases (27.05%) were males.
The highest number of daily recorded cases of HCWs was last November 5 with 12.
Majority of the HCWs have recovered with a count of 188 cases (90.82%).
Most of them were identified through contact tracing with 98 (47.34%), while 73 cases (35.27%) were through expanded testing, 31 (14.98%) were tested due to the severity of symptoms, and five (2.42%) were tested due to some other reasons. The common symptoms they experienced were cough, colds, and fever.
Most of the patients have no comorbid conditions. However, there are 15 patients reported to have hypertension, 12 with asthma, three with diabetes, and two who are pregnant.
The HCWs all work in hospitals, most of them at Baguio General Hospital and Medical Center (BGHMC).
The City Health Service Office reported 23 new cases of COVID-19 and 23 recoveries on Monday,bringing the total number of cases to 3,243; 2,901 recoveries; and 45 deaths.
