Widus Clark welcomes holiday season with hope and sharing

A little different than the usual but still joyous and bright, Widus Hotel and Casino Clark welcomed the Yuletide season with a whimsical Christmas tree-lighting ceremony at its hotel grand lobby last Nov. 27.

The 20-foot towering Christmas tree highlighted the much-anticipated occasion with its vibrant hues of gold and white, glimmering festive lights, and traditional capiz ornaments.

Widus AVP for corporate planning and compliance Neki Liwanag led the annual ceremony with a message of gratitude and hope for the company’s continued success despite the challenges in these trying times.

Widus AVP for corporate planning and compliance Neki Liwanag and Widus AVP for finance Mitchell Estacio led the ceremonial Christmas tree lighting, together with the company’s directors and managers to officially start the Christmas festivities

“Amidst the challenges we’re faced with daily, Widus has and will remain true to its commitment – we never stop! We will always continue to serve care beyond compare to our valued guests and loyal patrons as we do our best to also give back to the community. We are grateful for the trust you have given us this past year and we too hope for better days ahead knowing that we will slowly but surely rise above this together,” Liwanag said.

As the giant Christmas tree came alight during the ceremonial switch, Widus Foundation Inc. (WFI), the company’s charity arm, showcased its milestones this year, which ranged from pandemic response efforts, community relief operations, indigenous kids programs, and more.

For his part, Widus Foundation manager Ronnel Golimlim said that the social responsibility arm continuously crafts projects and campaigns geared toward rebuilding and strengthening the health and welfare of the community.

“Our projects in line with our Covid-19 relief efforts are still ongoing. Just this morning we have turned over two newly renovated rural health units to Bamban Tarlac. Aside from those, we have an upcoming donation drive for the benefit of the Aeta Day Care Children. This is one of the sustainable projects of WFI, which aims to donate learning kits, school supplies, and hygiene kits to 647 Aeta children in five communities. This special project is in partnership with the Philippine Gaming Corporation, Clark Marriott Hotel, and Widus Hotel and Casino,” Golimlim said.

Also present at the tree-lighting ceremony were Widus AVP for finance Mitchell Estacio, and Widus director for integrated marketing and communication Rochelle Jara, together with hotel guests, clients, partners, and media personalities who came to witness the jubilant affair.

To further heighten the festive mood, the tree lighting ceremony also marks the start of the hotel’s Yuletide promotions as it rolls out its most exciting and best value-for-money deals yet –ranging from gastronomically delightful Christmas buffet selections, mouthwatering seasonal treats readily available as gifts, to gingerbread house-making family contest, and more.
