Police Brig. Gen. Ronald Lee, director of the PNP-Drug Enforcement Group (PDEG),  identified the suspects as Marlon Bayan, 32, a native of Camarines Norte; and Guimalodin Ebrahim, 27, from Talitay, Maguindanao.

Lee said his men seized some eight kilos of shabu from the suspects, who were reportedly transporting illegal drugs from Metro Manila to various areas in Mindanao.

Also confiscated from the suspects was the vehicle they used in their illegal drugs transaction.

“Our initial background revealed that the arrested persons were regular carriers of the shabu from Manila to Mindanao. We are now conducting follow-up operation on the source,” said Lee.

Lee said the operation was carried out after his men were able to negotiate  the purchase of a large quantity of shabu from the suspects.

The meeting place was the vicinity of a mall in Parañaque City.

Lee said the suspects were arrested at around 7 p.m. after the illegal drugs were turned over and the money was accepted by the suspects.
