DFA's COVID-19 tally: 21 new cases, 14 recoveries


Overseas Filipinos in Asia and the Pacific and Europe have registered 21 new confirmed COVID-19 (coronavirus disease 2019) cases and 14 new recoveries, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) reported on Friday. 

In the same report, the DFA said no new fatalities were recorded from all the major geographical regions.

As of December 4, 2020, the total number of COVID-19 cases among overseas Filipinos is 11,670. Of this total, 3,265 are under treatment, 7,559 have recovered and 846 died due to coronavirus infections.

The Middle East and Africa remain as the combined regions with the most number of COVID-19 cases involving Filipinos at 7,544; the most number of recoveries, 4,657; the most number of those undergoing treatment, 2334, and most number of deaths, 553. 

“The DFA personnel in our Foreign Service Posts remain steadfast in partnering with local health authorities and agencies to ensure Filipinos' awareness of and adherence to preventive measures against the COVID-19 pandemic, and commit to tirelessly attending to the needs of our people affected by this pandemic, whenever possible,” the department said in a statement.
