Samsung “Mega Beast” Galaxy M51 Truly Roars
Written by Rhejina Medino
Samsung has officially launched the Galaxy M51 (SM-M515F/DSN)
with just enough fanfare befitting a smartphone that has a lot of
promise. Galaxy M51 has huge7000mAh battery capacity which makes it a
really “mean monster” tag from the Samsung M Series, with an
Infinity-O Display, 6.7” FHD + widescreen display – all powered
by Super AMOLED Plus technology, advanced Octa-core 2.2 GHz, 1.8
GHz processor, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 730G chipset, 6/8GB of RAM
and 128GB ROM,expandable up to 512GB micro SD card.The Galaxy M51 supports Dual-SIM (Nano) with SIM1 + SIM2 + Micro
SD slots, a 3.5mm Headphone Jack, Bluetooth v5.0 and side-mounted
fingerprint sensor.
It also has a 32MP front camera and a rear
Quad-Camera setup of 64MP (Main) + 12MP (Ultra-Wide) + 5MP
(Depth) + 5MP (Macro).
Closely, here’s the lowdown.

Body and Display
Galaxy M51 has 6.7” + S AMOLED Plus Display screen that allows
users to watch and play in vibrant 1920x1080P resolution. The
glass front is made of Gorilla Glass 3 and weighs 213g.Biometrics. When it comes to the biometrics, there are no delays experienced
for both — side-mounted fingerprint scanner and face
recognition. For added security, aside from the back-up PIN, it
is recommended to take advantage of these biometrics.
Super-Fast and Reverse Charging
With the 25W of super-fast charging, a remaining 30% battery will
take you 105 minutes to fully charge. This device supports reverse
(normal) charging, which explains the Type C to Type C cable
charger that comes with it. Since the device has 7000mAh battery
capacity, having this feature where your device acts as a “power
bank” makes it a good buy.
Camera
All photos taken using the front and rear cameras came out very
decent and of good quality. Aside from the front and rear main
cam, ultra-wide, macro and depth quad-camera setup, it also has
wide-angle selfie, night mode, slow motion, super slow-mo, hyper
lapse, single take and live focus features. Taking videos won’t
be a problem since its front and rear cam can support up to UHD
3840×2160 and has video stabilization.
Advanced Features
One advanced feature that I noticed is the Dual Messenger where
you can use two accounts for your messaging applications (Viber,
Messenger, Facebook, & etc.) conveniently and independently.
Daily Usage
I have tried continuously watching a 1080P video on YouTube, with maximum volume while Bluetooth is on for seven hours, and 64% battery percentage flashed back on the screen.
It would take you two days to maximize and drain the battery if
you’ll only be using the basic phone features like messaging and
calling, including checking some of your social media accounts,
playing songs and probably playing one of your favorite mobile
games for about 30-60 minutes.
Gaming Experience
Samsung devices have their own game launcher where all your
installed mobile games will go directly in it, and help you
monitor your game performance. Expand your gaming experience and
download different mobile games with its 128GB of internal
storage. I only have tried Asphalt 9, Mobile Legends, and Call of Duty:
Mobile.
There isn’t any problem that I experienced while testing
Asphalt 9, the graphics are decent enough to play with
no lags or frame drops. Next is Mobile Legends, and there are
only two things that I noticed, one it doesn’t have HFR mode or
High Frame Rate, and second it also doesn’t have Ultra High
Graphics.
Overall, however, if you’re a heavy gamer and planning to buy a mid-range phone, do take advantage of Samsung Galaxy M51’s huge battery.
