iQIYI International offers treat to Pinoy fans with new dramas, animes this holiday season


Filipinos planning to binge-watch this Christmas season are in for a treat as iQIYI, Asia’s popular video streaming platform, have original and exclusive titles this month.

“As the popular song goes, ‘It’s the most wonderful time of the year!’ And while we all wish our holiday reality were a little different, we at iQIYI are committed to help brighten your stay-at-home holiday plans and make them a little more joyful with fun, entertaining new shows this month,” said Sherwin Dela Cruz, iQIYI Philippines country manager.

He added, “Our Christmas gift to you is to make VIP subscription more accessible for a limited period so you can watch with no interruptions and gain access to more content we know you’ll love.”

From Dec. 1 to 15, iQIYI is offering VIP subscription for three months for only P99, or the price of one month. With VIP access, fans can watch the shows in full with no ads and access episodes in advance.

This month, iQIYI has exciting titles of Chinese, Korean and Thai dramas, and Japanese anime as holiday treat.

Chinese drama “Ultimate Note” will thrill viewers as Wu Xie, Zhang Qiling and Wang Pan (played by Zeng Shun Xi, Xiao Yu Liang, and Cheng Fang Xu, respectively) navigate adventures in a ghost kingdom of the snakes.

“Dear Missy” follows the story of best friends with contrasting personalities. Lu Ke and Shen Si Yi (played by Li Yi Tong and Jin Chen) reconcile nine years after graduation and journey to overcome work and life setbacks together.

For Thai drama fans, “Daughters” (Dec. 4) offers a story of four curious girls bound by a common history of family problems who find strength in friendship.

On Dec. 12, “Romantic Blue: The Series” will be released on the platform, an adaptation of the award-winning 1995 box office top grosser “Romantic Blue.” Starring Ohm-Thitiwat from “Until We Meet Again,” Namtan-Tipnaree of “Who Are You,” and Singto-Prachaya of “SOTUS,” “Romantic Blue: The Series” is about two brothers, Mai and Men, who fall in love with the same girl. The challenges of their complicated love story and dealing with their family’s financial difficulties lead them to a scandalous crime.

There are three new shows for Korean drama fans. “Hush,” for release on Dec. 11, stars Im Yoon-ah of K-pop group Girls’ Generation and it follows the adventures of an intern reporter in a newspaper company.

“Royal Secret Agent” (Dec. 21) stars Kim Myung Soo (also known as L from boy band Infinite), Kwon Nara, Lee Yi Kyung and Lee Tae Hwan and tells the story of a delinquent gambler assigned to work as a secret inspector as punishment.

Korean thriller “Awaken” (Dec. 1) is headlined by Nam Goong Min, Kim Seol-Hyun and Lee Chung Ah and is about crimes in a small town linked to an incident that happened 26 years ago.

Japanese manga and anime fans can watch two new shows: the iQIYI Exclusive “Black Clover” is about the next “wizard king” who will save the world from a demon causing mass destruction, and “Dragon Ball Super” chronicles the adventures of Goku during a ten-year timeskip after the defeat of Majin Buu.
