Influencer-model mom and baby were assaulted and robbed in their home

Times have been hard this year, especially with the pandemic hitting the whole world. We’ve heard of robbery stories but this one that was posted by influencer/model mom Cry So (Mei Yan So) has caught the attention of many for quite a number of reasons.

For one, So lives with her six-month-old baby and nanny in a building. She posted on her Facebook account on November 27, “At about 11 am yesterday morning, the security guard in my residential building somehow let the culprits go into the house with a knife—scaring and beating me, my nanny, and my son.”

She also recounted how the three robbers tied their hands and feet, even pulling her hair and successfully stealing her personal belongings. According to South China Morning Post, she revealed that the robbers stole an estimate of USD 464,000 worth of designer goods and jewelry. “Ten handbags, seven watches, a laptop computer, and two mobile phones were stolen in the incident. The haul is worth about HKD 3.6 million,” police revealed in a statement to SCMP. The young mom also added in her post that additional stolen items included her baby’s gold jewelry and money, and her nanny’s hard earned cash of HKD 8,000 and mobile phone.

What’s even more alarming is how these three intruders were able to go inside their residential building.  It can be seen in the building’s CCTV videos that three men were wearing dark clothes and hid themselves with black caps and face masks, making it difficult to identify them. They left the women and baby tied up, but So was able to untie herself and called the police immediately.

She ended her Facebook post with her disappointment on how these men “can hurt an unarmed woman and six-month-old baby. It can be seen in the video post that her baby’s face has a bruise on the cheek. “The loss of property is small, but who can help me get justice for my baby?” According to another article in The Standard, So will be giving a reward of HKD 2 million to those who will catch the perpetrators.
