8 PH films to premiere in 2020 Luang Prabang Film Festival


Organizer's of this year’s Luang Prabang Film Festival are once again bringing together the most talked-about films in Southeast Asia.

The festival’s organizers handpicked films from 10 ASEAN–member countries including Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam to participate in the festival.

“Babae at Baril,” “Cleaners,” “Edward,” “John Denver Trending,” “Oda sa Wala,” and “Tia Madre” are among Philippine films selected to participate in the features category.

Meanwhile, Sonny Calvento’s “Excuse Me, Miss, Miss, Miss” is the only Filipino short film to compete in the short films program. Andrew Leavold’s “The Search for Weng Weng (2015 Festival) is selected for the archive category.

The Luang Prabang Film Festival held in UNESCO World Heritage town of Luang Prabang, Laos will take place online from Dec. 4 to 10. It will be free streaming available across Southeast Asian countries.
