De los Santos targets gold No. 25

World No. 1 James De los Santos will face Olympic hopeful and Guinness world record holder Nagy Botond of Hungary in the final round of the 4th Katana Intercontinental League e-Tournament.

Fresh from winning his 24th gold medal when he ruled the 5th Sportsdata e-Tournament World Series, the 30-year-old De los Santos reached the final with a semifinal win against Nejc Sternisa of Slovenia.

“I'm in the finals of the 4th Katana Intercontinental League and I'll be facing Hungary's top kata player,” said De los Santos.

“Aside from being the No. 1 kata player in Hungary, Nagy Botond is No. 34 in the Olympic ranking, and he also holds a Guinness world record of having the fastest roundhouse kick.”

De los Santos is highly motivated after his 24th gold medal with a 24.9-23.7 win against Matias Moreno Domont of Switzerland in the 5th Sportsdata e-Tournament World Series.

It was the second time De los Santos ruled the event, which is the biggest e-tournament for kata since it gives more points, as compared to other events. He also won the gold in the same e-tournament last month.

So far, De los Santos has captured five gold medals this month.

He also ruled the Golden League, the Athletes E-Tournament Cash Award Series 2, the NOX Dojo Markham City Open and the Okinawa E-Tournament World Series 2.
