CAGAYAN – The municipal administrator of Lasam town here was found dead along the national highway in Barangay Callao Norte, Lasam town, early Sunday morning.
Police Regional Office 2 (PRO-2) Information Officer Lt. Col.. Andree Abella identified the victim as Augustos Agatep, 55, and a resident of Callao Sur, Lasam town.
Abella said the police received a call at around 5 a.m. Sunday, informing them that a man was found lying on a pool of blood on the national highway in Barangay Callao Norte.
Philippine National Police (PNP) and Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) responded to the call and found that it was Agatep.
He sustained several gunshot wounds in different parts of the body.
Witnesses could not identify the assailants, who they saw flee on a motorcycle after the incident.
Probers are still conducting thorough investigation to identify the possible motive and perpetrators of the crime.
