The Philippine foreign service posts have received reports of nine new fatalities and 11 new confirmed cases due to COVID-19 (coronavirus disease 2019) among Filipinos in the Americas and Asia and the Pacific, the Department of Foreign Affairs said on Sunday.
As of November 29, 2020, the total number of confirmed cases is at 11,676; total fatalities at 845, and total recoveries at 7,497.
The Middle East and Africa consistently remain as the combined region with the most number of confirmed COVID-19 cases among Filipino nationals abroad with a total of 7,535; followed by the Asia Pacific Region, 1,926; Europe, 1,376, and the Americas with 839.
On the repatriation, a total of 895 overseas Filipinos directly impacted by the COVID-19 were flown home over the weekend from South Korea and the Middle East.
The DFA, in a statement, expressed its commitment to monitoring the situation of overseas Filipinos who are affected by the pandemic and in promoting and protecting their welfare.
