PRO-6 Spokesperson Lt. Col. Joem Malong said there was a total of 2,139 police officers eyeing to be promoted to the next higher rank.

“We want to ensure that they are not only qualified, but deserving,” said Malong.

PRO-6’s Promotion Board is likely to only promote 68 percent of the policemen currently assigned in Aklan, Antique, Capiz, Guimaras, Iloilo, and Negros Occidental provinces, as well as the cities of Iloilo and Bacolod.

“Based on our approved quota, only 1,472 may be promoted,” Malong said.

Out of the 2,139 applicants, 2,051 were eyeing promotion for the ranks of police corporal up to police executive master sergeant.

Another 88 were applying for promotion for the rank of police lieutenants up to police majors.

Before any of the police officer could be promoted, they have to undergo intensive interview.

They also have to undergo mandatory drug testing and neuro-psychiatric examination.
