BTS ‘BE’ album sells 2 million copies in first 2 days, tops iTunes in 90 countries

K-pop idol group BTS’ new album “BE (Deluxe Edition)” has sold more than two million copies in two days after it was released on Nov. 20.

BTS made their comeback with the release of the album, nine months after dropping their “Map of the Soul: 7” in February.

According to Korea’s Hanteo Chart, “BE (Deluxe Edition)” topped the daily album chart, selling 1,950,106 copies on the first day on Nov. 20 and 1117,392 copies the following day for a total of 2,067,498 copies.

In comparison, “Map of the Soul: 7” sold 2.65 million copies on the first day on Feb. 21 and 194,459 copies on the second day for a total of 2,847,509 copies in two days, or a difference of 780,011 copies between the two albums.

“Map of the Soul: 7” went on to sell 3,378,633 copies in the first week of release. People are watching if “BE (Deluxe Edition)” will surpass the first-week sales of “Map of the Soul: 7.”

On the other hand, Big Hit Entertainment said “BE” ranked No. 1 on iTunes Top Albums chart in 90 countries and regions as of Nov. 21 while “Life Goes On,” the main track of the album, also topped iTunes Top Songs chart in 90 countries and regions.

On Spotify Charts’ Top 200 Global ranking, “Life Goes On” garnered 6.45 million streams on Nov. 20 to place third overall while “Dynamite” ranked second with 6.63 million streams. In the US, “Life Goes On” ranked seventh with 1.07 million streams.

In the Philippines, all the eight tracks in “BE” placed in the top 10 on Nov. 20. “Life Goes On” is No. 1 with 485,824 streams followed by “Dynamite,” 481,434; “Fly To My Room,” 352,003; “Blue & Grey,” 350,345; “Telepathy,” 299,356; “Stay,” 279,427; and “Dis-ease,” 277,994. “Skit” ranked tenth with 212,010 streams.
