Septuagenarian street sweeper killed in a vehicular accident in Manila

A septuagenarian street sweeper died after she was hit twice by two vehicles while crossing H. Lopez Boulevard in Manila Friday evening (November 20).

The Manila Police District identified the victim as 73-year-old Lydia Infante of Balut, Tondo, Manila.

The suspects were identified as Dennis Dela Cruz and Anecito Pequit.

Investigation showed that Infante was crossing H. Lopez Boulevard around 6:25 p.m. when the  vehicle driven by Dela Cruz travelling southward accidentally hit the victim causing her to fall to the ground. 

Then a taxi, driven by Pequit which was travelling the opposite direction also hit the victim, police added.

The drivers rushed Infante to nearby Tondo General Hospital where she eventually died.
