K-pop idol group BTS made their much-awaited comeback today, Nov. 20, with the release of their new album “BE (Deluxe Edition)” that offers a message of comfort to millions of people worldwide who are currently facing challenges under the pandemic.

“BE” is led by the main track “Life Goes On” along with seven other songs: “Fly To My Room,” “Blue & Grey,” “Skit,” “Telepathy,” “Dis-ease,” “Stay” and their hit single “Dynamite.”

The deluxe album comes nine months after their multi-million seller album “Map of the Soul: 7” was released on Feb. 21 this year and three months after the release of “Dynamite.”

Through the album, BTS members express their feelings about the current situation including fear and anxiety coupled with determination to overcome all this. “BE” contains BTS’ emotions and contemplations they experienced this year and the album title “BE” means “to be” or “existence” which does not abide by any form.

According to Big Hit Entertainment, “Life Goes On” is an alternative hip-hop song with sentimental acoustic guitar sounds captivating the ears of the listeners. The lyrics provide a comforting message that in the face of unexpected turns and abrupt disruption, “life goes on.” Anyone who has been through 2020 can relate to the song with BTS delivering a warm consolation that “life goes on” amid the new normal brought by coronavirus disease (COVID-19). “Dynamite” brings a message of hope with cheerful lyrics and bright melodies.

“Fly To My Room” is by the BTS unit composed of Suga, J-Hope, Jimin and V, while RM, Jin and Jungkook’s unit behind “Stay.”

“Blue & Grey” is a pop ballad with guitar sounds, “Telepathy” is filled with funky rhythm, and “Dis-ease” belongs to old school hip-hop. “Skit” is a vivid record of BTS members’ conversations when they first topped Billboard 100 and about “Dynamite.”

BTS have always participated in the creative process in the songs and albums they release and with “BE,” they assigned a project manager (PM) for each area and members took part from planning the concept to the layout and visual aspects of the album.
